About MiraAssist
An assistant,
not another platform.
MiraAssist exists to make a crisis counselor’s shift lighter: less paperwork, fewer screens, and more attention for the person on the line.
Why we built it
Technology is moving faster than ever, but crisis centers rarely feel the benefit. Counselors take some of the hardest calls anyone takes, then spend the minutes after each one writing it up, often across systems that were never meant to work together.
We wanted to take that weight off. Not by adding one more tool to learn, but by putting one quiet assistant beside the call: it listens, keeps the record with the counselor and stays out of the way.
Why Mira
Mira is a Mindful Intake & Response Assistant: mindful of the caller and the counselor, taking care of the intake while the call happens, and supporting the response while there’s still time to act.
- Mindful
- Attentive to the caller and the counselor, and never in the way of the conversation.
- Intake
- Captures the contact record as the call happens, drafted from the caller’s own words.
- Response
- Brings risk factors, resources and supervisor support forward while there’s still time to act.
- Assistant
- Supports the counselor’s judgement. It never replaces it.
MiraAssist is like Mira, the star in the constellation Cetus. Astronomers in the 1600s named it from the Latin for “wonderful,” because it fades and returns on a regular 332-day cycle, as dependable as clockwork.
That’s the assistant we set out to build: steady, quietly in the background, and there for the counselor on every call.
How we build it
Built with counselors
We start from research and keep reviewing the work with counselors. A feature ships when it makes a real shift easier, not because the technology makes it possible.
Simpler, not more
Every capability has to take work away: a field filled from what the caller said, a lookup already done, one screen instead of three.
Experience that ships
Our team has spent careers bringing new technology into demanding places and making it dependable. We adopt the newest tools only when they make a counselor’s work simpler.
What Mira will never do
-
Overrule the counselor
Once a counselor answers, that answer stands. Nothing Mira does afterwards changes it.
-
Put words in the caller’s mouth
Mira suggests nothing it can’t back with a quote of what the caller actually said.
-
Replace judgement
Mira drafts, reminds and lightens the load. Every decision on the call stays with the counselor.
